After many wonderful years on Railway Street, our Cottesloe store will close its doors on 5 October. Our Perth City store remains open, with extended hours from the same date.
The building was recently sold, and with the change of ownership came notice to vacate. Cottesloe has been part of Somic for a long time, and we're so grateful for everything the space has given us and the Somic community.
There's something particular about a shop by the coast. The salt in the air, the light through the front windows in the late afternoon, the pace of people who've just come from the beach. Cottesloe shaped how we thought about Somic — slow, personal, made for real life rather than a shelf.
It was never a place you came to and left in three minutes. People stopped to talk. They smelled everything twice, told us about their skin, their week, their travel plans. We learned what worked for them and remembered it for next time. And more often than not, there'd be a dog or two asleep by the counter or tail wagging to greet new customers.
And then there's you. The regulars who came in every few weeks for the same hand wash. The people who wandered in curious about the amber bottles and left with a whole routine. The ones who brought visiting family through the door because they wanted to show them something local and handmade. Every conversation across that counter taught us something about what we make and who we make it for.
Until 5 October
The Cottesloe doors stay open until then, seven days a week, 10am – 3pm. If you've been meaning to come in, now's the time. We'd love to see you before we go.
Where to find us after
Our Perth City store is in London Court, one of the loveliest corners of the city, and from 5 October we're extending our hours so there's more opportunity to visit.

Thank you
To everyone who visited, came back, sent a friend, or simply stopped in to say hello ~ thank you. Your support has meant the world to our small team, and it's the reason Somic is still here and still growing.
We're sad to leave Cottesloe. We're also excited about what comes next.
With love,
the Somic team
